SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – The top-seeded Rangers capped off their season with a South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association state championship over the weekend in Sioux Center, Iowa. After a first-round bye, Brookings beat the host Storm, 6-0, and then won the title with a 3-0 shutout of Aberdeen to finish off its league play with a 19-1 record.

After a scoreless first period, Addi Ramlo’s goal two minutes into the second period gave Brookings a 1-0 lead heading into the final period as Savannah Barber and Montana Myer set up the go-ahead goal.
The Rangers continued to dominate play as Barber tallied a power-play goal midway through the third off an assist from Ramlo and then Myer scored a minute later on an assist from Emma Rice for the final margin.
Brookings held a 33-12 edge in shots Jadyn Runge earned the shutout win with 12 saves.

Myer scored late in the first period off a Barber assist to give Brookings a 1-0 lead after a period.
Less than five minutes into the second, Myer lit the lamp again as Barber and Ramlo picked up the assists before Ramlo found the back of the net off a Janaya Kuehl helper as the Rangers led 3-0 through two periods.
Brookings added three goals in the third – the first an unassisted tally by Barber; the second by Ramlo with the assist going to Barber; and then an unassisted goal by Jenna Schulte with less than three minutes to play.
The Rangers outshot Sioux Center, 24-14, as Runge stopped all 14 shots she faced for the shutout win.
