Brookings Mites shine in Minnesota Showcase League

A group Brookings Mites participated in the Minneapolis Showcase Hockey League the first weekend of April and went 4-0 with a total of 37 goals scored with only 15 allowed on the weekend.

Their first game was against a team from Blaine, MN which had payed their 30 full ice games on the year.

Since Brookings Mites play half ice during their tourney play, for many of the players this was their first taste of full ice play.

In their first game of the weekend the Mites defeated Blaine 7-3. Addison Ronning was in the goal and had 25 blocked shots.

Games 2 and 3 were against the Southside Seadogs with Brookings winning both games by scores of 9-6 and 9-5. The Mites finished the weekend besting the MCC Vipers by a score of 12-1 in a game in which they outshot their opponent 52-6.

The Brookings Mites return to action the first weekend in May in Minneapolis to finish out their 8 game league play.

They currently lead the league standings with 8 points.
